What Happy Parents Says

1.png

Dear Hiring Manager,

I’m writing this letter to you in support of the application of Stephanie Litus.

Stephanie came to us through a referral from close and trusted friend. She handled my newborn daughter with the most extreme care and somehow the greatest of ease. After only 1 week my daughter is sleeping from midnight to 8 am. She has also provided me with a sleep and eating schedule for the daytime when she is not here. She has trained my nanny and husband as well on proper feeding, burping, and swaddling techniques. Even though she is attending to my newborn overnight, she somehow finds the energy to engage with my toddler in the morning after a long shift and in the evening before he goes to bed. She made the transition to becoming an older sibling much easier for him. She is such a kind person who has a passion for what she does.

She has been working with babies and newborns for more than 20 years. She has traveled across the country as a night nurse for newborns all on referrals. But now she is looking for something closer to home. She is fully vaccinated and boosted. Most importantly she is incredibly patient & kind with a giant heart & super positive attitude.

Should you have any questions or want to speak please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best Regards,

Gabriela Bodkin

To whom it may concern,

I am delighted to serve as a reference for Stephanie Litus, who was a night nurse and lifeline for our family for 10 weeks after the birth of our baby boy Hudson in February, 2022. As a child psychologist and specialist in child development, I hold high standards for the care and support of my children, and my family as a whole. Stephanie met and exceeded these expectations. She was a delight to have in our home, and made me feel comfortable and at ease asking her any and all questions about the care of my newborn son (“Are there tips for changing diapers to reduce the chance of blow outs?” “What’s the most comfortable way to change Hudsy into a onesie without getting his arms stuck?” “How can I burp him to reduce his discomfort at witching hour ?”). Stephanie helped Hudson to be sleeping through the night by 8 weeks of age in a caring, loving and supportive way -what felt like a miracle to me as a busy mom, who was dedicated to nursing/pumping milk for my son until 12 months of age. She was wonderful at being flexible with her schedule as we figured out the times when we needed her the most with Hudsy’s daily rhythm and schedule, and she gave us excellent advise on supporting his development both during the time she was with us, and beyond…

I initially had concerns about our Manhattan apartment feeling crowded with Stephanie staying over six nights a week. I am pleased to say that these were entirely unfounded. Stephanie was a welcome source of energy, warmth and comfort in our home. Stephanie was punctual, reliable, and we have continued to engage her from time to time in caring for both of our boys when she is available. At times when she has been unavailable, Stephanie has also gone above and beyond in connecting me with colleagues to help care for my children who share her values as a caregiver

I strongly recommend Stephanie as a night nurse and as a caregiver for children in any capacity.

I am writing to recommend Stephanie Litus for a night nanny position. Stephanie came highly recommended by another mom in the HRP Mamas group (downtown moms group). We hired Stephanie for just over a month, and I can enthusiastically recommend her as a newborn specialist.

Stephanie is responsible, caring, warm, and took great care of our son during her time with us. She was always punctual, if not early, and even stayed a bit later on some mornings to make sure everything was ready to go for the day before heading out.

Stephanie is proactive and was always looking for ways to make our lives easier. In addition to all her newborn responsibilities, she emptied our dishwasher, took out the trash when leaving, reminded me to take my postnatal vitamins each evening (I’m exclusively breastfeeding), and even helped entertain our toddler in the mornings when things were hectic.

Stephanie is also receptive and easy to communicate with, traits I find especially important. She made suggestions for newborn sleep and feed schedules, but was respectful of the approach we wanted to take - in our case, we did not want to start sleep training until our son is at least 2 months old, even if he already met the weight requirements.

In summary, I would hire her again if we were to have another baby, and I’m happy to arrange a time to speak on the phone as well.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

Stephanie was our baby nurse for 4 months, from November 2023 to February 2024. We found Stephanie through a mom recommendation on the Tribeca Moms Facebook group. That mom had found her through two other moms on UES Moms who had recommended her.

We cannot say enough good things about her. She is proactive, knowledgeable, smart, and reliable. I was exclusively breastfeeding, so she would bring the baby to me during the night along with water, my haaka, and a burpcloth.

Stephanie proactively put our baby on a schedule and has even gotten cheerios or milk for our other child (a toddler) when she noticed we were running out. Our mornings are made easier because she would not only watch our baby but also play with our older toddler or feed her breakfast while we get ready for the day. She pointed out our son’s developing cradle cap and recommended some tools to deal with them. She would also play with him, do tummy time with him, and moisturize him so his elbows and knees weren’t dry. When our son got clogged tear ducts, she demonstrated to us how to unclog it by massaging with Q-tips.

She is also open to taking cues from the parents. She was respectful of the fact that we didn’t want to start sleep training our son until he was a bit older. She kept diligent record of all diapers and feedings for the first couple months, like we requested, using the BabyConnect app.

Stephanie is also very reliable. She is almost always early. There were a few times she warned us she might be 5-10min late but still ended up being early. She’s also very neat and tidy. The nursery was always pristine when she left

We are pleased to highly recommend her for her next job. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to recommend Stephanie Litus as a baby nurse. I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie for three months, where she has consistently demonstrated her extraordinary nursing skills and professionalism whilst taking care of our newborn baby.

She started working with us when our daughter was two months and I wish I had met her sooner. Stephanie was an extremely dedicated and kind nurse and an absolute pleasure to work with. She helped with everything baby related, from feedings, to bath, to sleep training and even played and sang with her during her wake windows.

Stephanie was particularly amazing with the sleep training (in the most kind and gentle way). She taught our daughter to sleep through the night at only three months, which was a total miracle and game changer!

She has a deep understanding of medical procedures and is always up-todate with the latest medical advancements and know-how about all things baby related. She has a strong work ethic and is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that the babies and families she works with, receive the best possible care. She was always on time, very passionate and committed to her work.

I am confident that Stephanie would be an amazing and caring nurse to your baby. She has my highest recommendation and I am confident that she will excel in this role. If I have another baby, I will definitely call her back. Please feel free to reach out in case you need further details.

To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing to recommend Stephanie Litus as a night nurse and postpartum doula. Stephanie was with us for 6 weeks, starting when our daughter was almost 3 months old, after we realized we needed more help and our previous night nurse was no longer available. We found her through the Upper East Side Moms Facebook group after several members had recommended her. Between the two night nurses, I would absolutely use Stephanie for our next child.

As a pediatrician, I had some reservations about using a night nurse given stories I had heard from others about unsafe sleep habits, recommendations of medications/supplements with little to no evidence, and generally pushing unrecommended practices; however, Stephanie never made unsafe recommendations. She was respectful of all of our preferences, including our decision to wait until closer to four months to sleep train. By the time she left, our daughter was sleeping from 8pm to 8am reliably.

Stephanie arrived early almost every day and was ready to jump in and help. She took great care of our colicky baby, demonstrating patience and kindness towards her, even when she would sometimes cry for hours straight. She was proactive about making sure all baby items were cleaned and sanitized, including my pump parts, and kept the nursery neat and tidy. She would go above and beyond by helping us with household tasks like folding laundry, taking out the garbage, and unloading the dishwasher without us even having to ask her.

While having a “stranger” in your home can feel uneasy, especially during the vulnerable postpartum period, I never felt uncomfortable with Stephanie. She is easygoing, flexible, and so fun to talk to. This made communication particularly easy, and I felt comfortable asking Stephanie to help us in ways that I did not feel comfortable asking our previous night nurse.

Overall, we had a great experience with Stephanie and would highly recommend her to other families. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more information!

Sincerely,

Divya
